What is MS adhesive

MS Polymer Sealant is the abbreviation of silane-modified polyether sealant, also known as “Modified Silicone” or “Hybrid” sealants, use a modified silane polymer as their base instead of the synthetic polymer base of silicone or the urethane-based polymer system utilized by polyurethane sealants.

This unique chemistry allows MS polymers, like our LaSeal MS polymer sealant, to combine the high-performance characteristics of silicone and polyurethane while minimizing the weaknesses of each.

For example, MS polymers possess the durability and paintability of polyurethane without the shrinkage commonly associated with polyurethane chemistries. It also has silicone’s weatherproof and UV resistance while still standing up to abrasion.

It’s mainly used in the fields of bonding, caulking, jointing, sealing, waterproofing and reinforcing in construction and decoration. It is suitable for bonding materials to a variety of surfaces including, but not limited too; concrete, tarmac, timber, metals, fibreglass, stone, bricks, plasterboard, natural stone, and many plastics.

With the deepening of people's understanding of the advantages of MS Polymer Sealant, its application in the field of refrigerated trucks, containers, elevator industry is also expanding.

Composition of MS Polymer Sealant

The main raw materials of MS Sealant:

Calcium carbonate (nano calcium, heavy calcium, titanium dioxide, carbon black) (20-60% content)

Trimethoxysilane terminated polyether (15-30% content)

Plasticizers (DOP, DINP, etc.) (5-8% content)

Tackifier (γ-aminoethylaminopropyltrimethoxysilane) (0.5-1% content)

Water remover (vinyltrimethoxysilane) (1-2% content)
